Philly-Based Wokworks Expanding With First Location Along Jersey Shore
A Philadelphia-based restaurant specializing in southeast Asian street food will open its first New Jersey location just two blocks away from the beach. Wokworks is expanding with a new restaurant on the Jersey Shore in Margate, the company said in a news release. The 2,000-square-foot location is expected to open in early June at 7801 Ventnor Avenue, the former home of Greens and Grains. Clam chowdah, anyone? A husband and wife has brought a taste of New England to the Jersey Shore. Steve Marchel and Robin Kramer have recently opened Betty's Seafood Shack in Margate. The restaurant pays homage to Steve's beloved Portuguese Water Dog, Betty, who died in 2018. It's that time of the yea: Time to buy beach badges or plan where you'll spend your free time this summer. The 130 miles of Jersey Shore offers about 50 public beaches to choose from. Daily, weekly and seasonal beach badge and tag prices have been set for the 2023 season. The highest seasonal fee at $150 is in Deal. Boat Captain's Body Pulled From NJ Waters: Report
The body of a popular boat captain was found floating near a dock in South Jersey, NJ Advance Media reported. Edward Cairns, 71, was found dead between the dock and marshland during low tide at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, near Graef Boat Yard on Longport Boulevard in Egg Harbor Township, the outlet said. Cairns lived on his boat and was a well-known Margate-area resident for more than three decades, police said in a news release.
