First responders were called to the 900 block of Franklin Street around 10:15 p.m., Reading police wrote in a release.
They arrived to find Antonio Carrero dead at the scene, the department said.
Investigators believe Carrero and suspect Jonathan Minier "got into an altercation" before the shooting. Minier, 27, was arrested and charged with homicide and related counts, police said.
Court records show his bail was denied due to the nature of the charges. Minier has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 28.
