Teamsters Union Launches Strike Against Amazon
As the holiday season peaks, the Teamsters Union has initiated a significant strike against Amazon, targeting facilities in four states. This action is described as the largest labor movement in the company’s history.
On Thursday morning, December 19, union members began protests at a fulfillment center in Queens, New York, with additional strikes occurring in Atlanta, Southern California, and Skokie, Illinois.

Men Faked Mass Armed Robberies So 'Victims' Could Get Immigration Protection: FBI
Two New York men are accused of staging at least eight fake robberies so the store owners could receive immigration benefits, authorities said.
Long Island resident Rambhai Patel, age 36, of Farmingdale, and New York City Balwinder Singh, age 39, of Queens, are charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts said. FBI agents said they linked the men to four robberies in Massachusetts, two in Pennsylvania, and one in Kentucky and Tennessee.

NY Native Dad Killed In Poconos ATV Accident: Coroner
Peter Holzapfel, a Wayne County husband and father, died following an ATV accident in Dreher Township, according to officials. He was 64.
Holzapfel, of Newfoundland, was driving along Hilltop Road when his "motor tricycle" overturned on Sunday, July 16, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
The 64-year-old died from multiple traumatic injuries at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest on Wednesday, July 19, the coroner said. His death was ruled accidental.

A Queens mom whose body was found in a blood-soaked hockey bag over the weekend had been stabbed nearly 60 times, an autopsy reportedly showed.
A medical examiner who conducted the autopsy of Orsolya Gaal, 51, listed the wounds, according to multiple reports citing knowledgeable law enforcement sources.
These include injuries to Gaal's carotid artery and trachea, as well as to her torso, left arm, fingers and palms, the New York Post reported.
The medical examiner counted 58 wounds in all, according to News4 New York.

A judge ordered Albert Ferrelli, 50, and Chiahao Lee, 30, both of Queens, and Fa Deng, 42, of Staten Island detained following a brief hearing in U.S. District Court in Newark on Thursday, April 7.

A group of New York City con artists conspired to scam five Atlantic City casinos out of $1,120,000 by exchanging bogus bank checks for gaming chips, authorities said.
The Hard Rock casino rejected a check and the Golden Nugget permitted only incremental amounts, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said Thursday.
