Skeletal Remains Found In Montco Identified: Coroner
The human skull and other skeletal remains found in a Towamencin retention basin on March 18 have been identified, according to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office. They belonged to 34-year-old Isaias Hernandez-Geronimo, said Coroner Janine Darby at a press conference on Tuesday, July 30. The remains were discovered by a surveyor in a wooded area near the retention basin on Welsh Road, officials said previously. Police Identify Pedestrian Killed In Lansdale Wreck
Authorities have named the 57-year-old man who was hit and killed walking across Church Road in Lansdale last month. Victor Bonanni was crossing between Pennbrook Parkway and Station Square Boulevard late on Dec. 22 when he was struck by a southbound car, police said. The driver remained on scene. Bonanni was rushed to Lansdale Hospital with a head wound and "other traumatic injuries" and later died, according to authorities. Montco Dog Owner Found Guilty of Neglect: Report
A 62-year-old Montgomery County man was fined $100 for leaving his dog in an unattended car over the summer, North Penn Now reports. Police in Upper Gwynedd were called to a shopping center on Valley Forge Road on Aug. 4 after passersby noticed a dog in an unattended car. According to the report, the windows were only cracked and the air conditioning was not running. Methacton Lacrosse Coach Who Punched Player During Game Faces Harassment Charge
A volunteer lacrosse coach who last month punched a North Penn High School player during a game has been charged with harassment. The charge carries a $300 fine and maximum sentence of 90 days in jail for Garth Little, 50, CBS News reports. Police are investigating an alleged hate crime incident against a Muslim student that occurred at North Penn High School Tuesday, as originally reported by NorthPennNow. Lansdale Family Displaced Following Overnight Garage Fire
A Lansdale family has been displaced from their home after a fire broke out in their garage early Sunday morning, authorities said. Local firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Winding Road, less than 1000 feet from the township line of Towamencin, according to Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Crews were able to bring the fire under control just before 1 a.m. without any injuries reported to firefighters or residents inside the home, EASP said.
