Photo Shows Aftermath Of DUI Crash That Injured Allendale, Saddle River Officers On Route 17 The NJ State PBA has released a photo of the wreckage of the Saturday, Oct. 5 crash caused by a DUI driver that left multiple police officers injured, including one seriously. As of press time, Saddle River Police Officer John Latka has been released from the hospital, while Allendale Police Officer Mark Dunn, Jr. remains hospitalized in critical condition, the NJ State PBA said. A Honda CRV occupied by a family of four, two adults and two children, spun out and struck the concrete barrier during the crash with a 2022 Mercedes Benz operated by a 33-year-old woman, Rutherford Police Lt. Craig Capoano said. The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the local westbound lanes right at the Clifton border. Arrest Made In Crash That Killed Navy Vet From Vineland, Allen Miller Jr., 45 A 23-year-old man has been charged in a crash that killed a U.S. Navy veteran last month in Salem County, authorities said. Christopher Poore, of Bridgeton, was heading east on Route 40 when he struck Allen Miller Jr., 45, near milepost 20.5 in Pittsgrove around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, New Jersey State Police said. Poore then fled the scene. Miller, who police said was from Vineland, was killed as a result of the crash. Coroner IDs Driver Killed When Car Overturns In Embankment In Upper Macungie A 66-year-old motorist was killed when their vehicle slid off the roadway and went down an embankment Saturday night, Oct. 5, officials said. Stephen La Pierre, of Upper Macungie Township, was operating the vehicle that went off the roadway on Tilghman Street and into an embankment, overturning and ejecting him around 10 p.m., Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. The cause of death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries. The manner of death is Accident.

Hackensack Shooting Under Investigation Police in Hackensack are investigating a shooting on Friday, Oct. 4. Officers responded to Newman and Sussex streets at 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired, Hackensack Police Capt. Michael Antista said. No victims or witnesses were found upon arrival, and further investigation turned up a found shell casing, confirming that a shooting occurred. The Detective Bureau is conducting an investigation and no further information was available.
