Two multiple-vehicle crashes have slowed traffic to a crawl on Route 283 West in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice on Tuesday evening, Sept. 10. Travelers were asked to avoid the area of South Market Street between Plum Street and College Avenue will be closed due to a traffic crash, the Elizabethtown Borough Police said in a release at 2:16 p.m. "Traffic is being detoured and motorists should expect delays," police said. A ramp of the PA Turnpike/Interstate 76 closed Thursday morning, Aug. 22 due to a rollover crash, officials said. A tractor-trailer hauling dog food was heading east on I-76 when it attempted to take Exit 257 - Harrisburg East Interchange to I-283 Northbound, according to PennDOT and Turnpike officials. A major gas leak prompted evacuations in Palmer Township, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before noon on Thursday, Aug. 8. Both lanes of travel on William Penn Highway were closed as a result of the leak between Stones Crossing Road and Sheridan Drive, police said. The evacuation covered an area of more than 100 yards, they said. Emergency services and utility company crews were at the scene.

Vehicle Slams Into Fence On Rt 30 Ramp: PennDOT
A vehicle crash into a fence at a Route 30 ramp is causing some delays on Monday, Aug. 5, according to PennDOT's 511PA. The crash happened at the Route 30 Westbound on-ramp at Kreutz Creek Road in Hellam Township around 11:15 a.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services dispatch log. Two tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 81 sending one person to the hospital, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice. The crash happened on I-81 South at mile marker 93 in Swatara Township shortly after 4 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, as detailed by Schreffler. 'Juvenile' Hit By Car In Broomall: Police
A juvenile victim was hospitalized after being hit by a car on Friday night, July 26, according to Marple police. The victim was struck by a southbound vehicle while crossing Sproul Road near Lawrence Road in Broomall around 7 p.m., authorities said in a release. They were taken to Lankenau Hospital while the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators, police wrote. Coroner Names Woman Killed In Carbon County Crash
A Hazleton woman was killed in a Nesquehoning crash on Tuesday morning, July 23, officials say. Angela De La Cruz Laureano, 46, was involved in a wreck on Route 93 and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Carbon County Coroner's Office. Her cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries resulting from a motor vehicle collision and the manner of death was ruled accidental, authorities said. In addition to the Coroner's Office, Nesquehoning police and the District Attorney's Office are investigating, they added.

Drivers are advised to expect possible delays as roadwork begins in Lower Gwynedd this week. Crews will be at work at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike, Sumneytown Pike, and Norristown Road near Spring House Tavern, according to township police. Work will begin on Wednesday, July 17, and continue through Friday, July 19, officials said.
