Homes Evacuated As Flash Floods Hit North Eastern PA Homes were being evacuated in Lycoming as the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at 12:34 p.m. on Friday in effect until 2:30 p.m. for Lycoming County. Evacuation announcements are occurring in the areas of Upper and Lower Cottage Avenue of Old Lycoming and Lycoming Townships, police said. Bear Struck Dead On US Rt. 15 In PA: Authorities (Photos) A bear was killed when a pick-up truck hit it on US Route 15 in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, authorities say.  A white pick-up truck hit the bear crossing Rt. 15 north a little after 10 a.m. on July 26, 2023, according to the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department. The crash happened near Gettysburg at mile marker 7.2, according to the department.  Company 22 and Mutual Aid responded to the call to the scene.  The driver was unharmed.  This is the second crash involving a bear on a Pennsylvania highway that Daily Voice has reported on in less than 24 hours. Motorcyclist Dies After Slamming Into Bear On I-81 (Update) A 67-year-old man has died after his motorcycle hit a bear on Interstate 81 early on Tuesday, July 25, 2023,  state police say.  Frank J. Castrignano was heading south when the bear wandered onto the highway from the eastern shoulder, authorities said. Wrong-Way Motorcyclist Exceeds 110 MPH In US 15 Pursuit A Gettysburg man was arrested after traveling the wrong direction on US Route 15 while going over 100 mph, according to Pennsylvania state police. Kody Michae Luckenbaugh, 21, pushed his luck with police by fleeing an attempted traffic stop after speeding around a corner at York and Granite Station roads in Straban Township on Wednesday just before 7 a.m. During the pursuit that followed, he traveled at speeds over 110 mph on his 2013 Yamaha motorcycle.
