Ever Monzon-Alejandro, of Reading, was charged with two counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to the Berks County Detective's Office.
Monzon-Alejandro, 33, was identified as the suspect by the now 16-year-old victim in a Dec. 20, 2021 interview, according to Chief County Det. Michael J. Gombar. She noted that he is her step-uncle, authorities said.
Investigators were initially notified of the alleged abuse after receiving a Childline referral on Dec. 8, 2021, they said.
The alleged assaults took place in Reading homes between 2014 and 2021, authorities said. At the time, the girl was between the ages of nine and fifteen.
On Feb. 2, charges were filed against Monzon-Alejandro, and he was arrested and booked into the Berks County Jail on $250,000 bail.
