Arsonist Charged With Starting Lyndhurst Brush Fire During Critical Time
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on accusations he started a brush fire over the weekend while the state was under a Stage 3 fire restriction in Lyndhurst, police said. Officers were called to the 600 block of Fourth Street on reports of a small brush fire around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, Lyndhurst Police Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. Man Accused Of Shattering Windshields Of Moving Vehicles On Mahwah Streets Has Prior Arrests
Mahwah police have announced the arrest of a man who threw a rock at multiple moving vehicles, shattering and cracking windshields this week. John Yager III, 50, allegedly threw the rock at moving vehicles along Franklin Turnpike, East Ramapo Avenue, and Island Road over the past several months, Mahwah Police Capt. Guido Bussinelli said. Several of the drivers had reported that the damage to their vehicles consisted of shattered and cracked windshields. Service Restored After Water Main Break In Hoboken
Service has been restored to Hoboken residents after a water main break Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, officials said. The 12-inch leak occurred around 8 a.m. at 5th and Clinton. Water pressure throughout the system was stabilized as of noon.

All Lanes Of Route 17 Closed By Overturned Construction Equipment In East Rutherford
Traffic was halted along Route 17 Tuesday morning, Oct. 29 due to debris that fell off a tractor trailer in East Rutherford. As of 10 a.m., all southbound lanes, south of East Union Avenue, were closed. Traffic cameras show cars backed up in the southbound lanes and what appeared to be overturned construction equipment. A sleeping homeowner awoke to a burglar in her home Monday, Oct. 28 in Palisades Park, police said. Officers were called to the home and found the back kitchen sliding glass door had been smashed with a flower pot around 8:20 p.m., Palisades Park police said. The burglar went into the home and upstairs to the second floor, where the homeowner was sleeping. Driver, Passenger Flee NJ Turnpike Crash In Ridgefield Park: State Police (

A driver and a passenger fled the scene of a crash with another vehicle on the NJ Turnpike in Bergen County Monday evening, Oct. 28, police said. The Toyota RAV4 and Audi Q3 collided in the northbound lanes at milepost 118.7 in Ridgefield Park around 6:55 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver and passenger of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and were picked up by an unknown vehicle before troopers arrived. No injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.

Man Tries Ramming Secaucus Gas Attendant With U-Haul, Splashes Police With Urine: Cops
A 27-year-old Bergen County man is facing charges for trying to ram a Route 3 gas attendant with a vehicle and then assaulting a police officer, authorities said. Nelson Castellon, of Ridgefield Park, was in a U-Haul van when he tried to hit the attendant at the Exxon station at 445 Route 3 West around 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
