A week after a serious literal backstabbing, a 23-year-old man has been released on ten percent in cash of $25,000, court records show. Thomas Myles O’Byrne of Manheim is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Kenneth B. Yingst of Manheim six times 6 times to the back and neck area with a knife around 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 6. A 28-year-old man is accused of being an "angry acquaintance" who stabbed a man in the back In Ephrata on Sunday, authorities announced June 12, 2023. A 36-year-old Lancaster County man attempted to lure a 14-year-old girl to have sex with him through Facebook, police say. William La Vinkavick Jr., 36, of Akron turned himself in to the West Earl Township police on Nov. 5, according to a release by the department. An "investigation revealed that he had enticed who he thought was a 14-year-old girl into meeting him for the purpose of sex," the police say. A 36-year-old mom from Lititz was seen gambling on a skill machine in a convenience store while her infant was out of sight in the car in the parking lot, Ephrata police say. Melissa Louise Heyman, had left her 1-year-old in her car for nearly an hour while she gambled inside the store located in the 500 block of West Main Street, Ephrata Borough on September 7, 2022 at 9:51 a.m., according to area police.
