Ex-GF Murderer Serving Life Sentence Escapes PA Prison A Royersford man convicted of his girlfriend's murder two weeks ago has escaped the jail, authorities warn.  Danelo Cavalcante, 34, snuck past security at the Chester County Prison early on Thursday, Aug. 31, said West Chester police.  The convicted killer was last seen walking on Wawaset Road in Pocopson Township around 9:40 a.m., the District Attorney's Office said. Philly Area Man Charged With Trying To Kill Mom On Thanksgiving: Police A 42-year-old suburban Philadelphia man has been charged with trying to kill his mom on Thanksgiving authorities said. Michael D. Giffing is accused of assaulting his mom, Dorothy Giffing, around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24, West Chester police said. Authorities responded to the home on the 300 Block of W. Ashbridge Street on reports of an unconscious person who had fallen, police said. While en route , the call was upgraded to a possible cardiac arrest.  The injuries that Dorothy suffered were not consistent with a fall, authorities said.
