52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. Investigators found an "elaborate cockfighting operation" that included a fighting ring, seating for spectators, and several cockfighting kits. PA Man Wanted For Rape, Incest May Be In Lehigh Valley: Police
Authorities are looking for 38-year-old Benicio Antoin Benifield. Benifield is wanted in Palmer Township on charges of felony rape, sexual assault of a victim under 13, incest, and multiple related counts, according to the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers. Court records claim the crimes took place in November 2018. Investigators believe he may be in or around Macungie or Allentown. PA Native Amanda Seyfried Goes On Police Ride Along In Philly's Kensington Neighborhood
Amanda Seyfried stopped by the Philadelphia Police Department's 26th District this week. The "Mean Girls" actress joined author Liz Moore for a ridealong in Philly's Kensington section on Tuesday, Jan. 23, according to officers. Seyfried will play the lead role in a TV adaptation of Moore's book, "Long Bright River,” in which a Philly cop searches for her missing sister in Kensington, police said. Seyfried, 38, was born and raised in Allentown and graduated from William Allen High School in 2003, according to her online bio.

Snow Emergencies Declared Across PA Ahead Of Storm
Officials are advising residents across southeastern and central Pennsylvania to take caution ahead of the snowstorm predicted for Friday, Jan. 19, according to National Weather Service meteorologists. Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and parts of lower Bucks and Montgomery counties are under a winter storm warning as of 5 p.m. Thursday. New Forecast: Increased Snowfall Totals Expected, Arctic Temps To Follow Northeast Storm
Newly-released forecast maps show parts of the region could see up to six inches of snow in the end-of-week storm. Intermittent snow is expected to begin between 4 and 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, with the heaviest amounts falling in the afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Coroner IDs Infant, Woman Killed In Allentown Shooting
Officials have named the woman and baby who were fatally shot in an Allentown home last Friday, Dec. 29. They were 44-year-old Ada Ortiz and her 1-year-old grandson Sebastian Serrano, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. A man, a woman, and a baby were found shot in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told Daily Voice on Saturday.
