A Chester County father and his two adult sons were charged for poaching "dozens upon dozens" of trophy bucks, according to authorities. Carl Nelson III, 70, of West Chester, and his sons Carroll Nelson IV, 44, of Downingtown, and Mark Nelson, 40, of West Chester, are facing a total of 71 charges stemming from a multi-year investigation, the Pennsylvania Game Commission said. A man and a woman are hospitalized after an early morning wreck on Route 322, Downingtown police say. A silver Honda Fit and a white Chevrolet Equinox collided on the 600 block just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, authorities said. Both were taken to Paoli Hospital Trauma Center while Route 322/Brandywine Avenue was shut down for more than three hours. Motorcyclist Killed In Wreck During Chester County Police Chase: Troopers
A motorcycle rider crashed and succumbed to his injuries while fleeing state police near Downingtown on Friday, Oct. 27, according to authorities. Police were chasing the motorcyclist east on US Route 30 through East Caln Township just before the wreck around 1:40 a.m., troopers said. The motorcyclist exited the highway "at a high rate of speed" onto Route 113, but lost control and hit a metal guide rail on the road's north side, said authorities. A motorcyclist crashed and died during a pursuit with Pennsylvania State Police in Chester County overnight, the agency said. Troopers began pursuing the motorcycle around 1:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, eastbound on the US 30 bypass when the 31-year-old motorcyclist got off the limited access highway at a high rate of speed, PSP Trooper James Grothey said.
