John Gotti’s COVID fraudster grandson has finally reported to prison, after delaying his report date for nearly half a year, authorities said.
Carmine G. Agnello, 40, of Oyster Bay, NY, is being held in federal prison in Fairton, NJ, according to Bureau of Prisons records.
Agnello was sentenced to 15 months behind bars in April 2026. He pleaded guilty to stealing $1.1 million in federal COVID relief funds and spending the money on cryptocurrency investments.

LI Woman, 87, Found Dead In Backyard Pool After Drowning, Cops Say
An elderly Long Island woman drowned in her backyard pool on Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, police said.
Eileen Specht, 87, of Northport, was found unresponsive in the pool just before 8 a.m., the Suffolk County Police Department said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and police do not suspect criminal involvement in her death.
Specht is the third person to drown in a backyard pool on Long Island in the past week, according to authorities.

Eleven New Yorkers have been charged in an alleged international immigration fraud scheme that arranged more than 1,000 sham marriages and collected tens of millions of dollars, federal prosecutors said.
The defendants were arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 12, after a two-count federal indictment was unsealed, according to the US Department of Justice. The network operated for more than a decade and arranged sham marriages between foreign nationals, primarily citizens of China, and US citizens to fraudulently obtain immigration status, prosecutors allege.

A drunk Long Island driver who hit 106 mph seconds before causing a deadly crash has pleaded guilty, authorities said.
Bryan Mizhirumbay, 24, of Lindenhurst, admitted his role in the death of 55-year-old Craig White on Sept. 3, 2025, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
Mizhirumbay will likely be sentenced to 7-15 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault, and aggravated DWI, according to prosecutors.

A convicted New York child rapist was rearrested Tuesday, Aug. 11 for failing to meet the conditions of his parole, police said.
John G. Coler Jr., 46, of Beacon, created several new social media and email accounts without notifying authorities, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Coler was required to provide notice of all his activities after he was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl he knew in 2018 in Clifton Park, according to the New York sex offender registry.
