HILLBURN, N.Y. -- A sedan went off the road and crashed into a church Sunday morning in Hillburn.
The incident occurred at St. James Mar Thoma Church on 42 Fourth St. at approximately 10 a.m.
The crash caused substantial damage to the building and the driver, an unidentified 62-year-old woman, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp. after experiencing chest pain from the airbag deployment, Ramapo Police said.
Hillburn FD and The Hillburn Building Inspector responded to the scene and condemned the building until repairs can be completed, Ramapo PD said.
Rockland Paramedics and Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp. were on scene.
