Dog Killed, Several Displaced After Blaze Guts Rockland County Home
An early-morning fire tore through a Rockland County home, displacing as many as 12 residents and killing a dog, according to reports. The blaze broke out at 1 West Burda Place in New City on Saturday, Sept. 12, at around 4:19 a.m., according to the Hillcrest Fire Department. Arriving firefighters found heavy flames and quickly launched an aggressive attack inside the home, the department said. Two 24-year-olds from New Jersey were killed after being struck by a subway train in Manhattan early Sunday morning, Sept. 13, authorities said.
