Two high-ranking leaders of a violent gang involved in multiple violent incidents throughout Westchester will spend decades in prison, officials announced.

Last Full-Size Kmart Store In US, Located In NY, Set To Close: Here's Where, When
The nation's last remaining full-size Kmart discount department store is just weeks away from permanently closing, according to a new report.
The New York store, located on Long Island, will close on Sunday, Oct. 20, a store employee told NBC affiliate WJAR in Providence on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The store is in Bridgehampton on Montauk Highway (Route 27).
A smaller format store in Miami, Florida remains open, the report said.
Kmart operated around 2,500 stores at its peak in the early 90s, according to government filings. It merged with Sears in 2005.

Following several lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and other abuses, successful hip-hop producer and New York native Sean "Diddy" Combs now faces federal sex trafficking charges, officials announced.
Combs, a 54-year-old New York City native who grew up in Westchester County in Mount Vernon, was arrested on Tuesday morning, Sept. 17 on a three-count indictment, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

Miami-Bound Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Cops Say
An alleged fentanyl dealer in the region who was headed to Miami, Florida was nabbed by drug task agents before he could leave.
Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.
According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas.
During the investigation, Cruz made several drug transactions with Task Force agents.

Sidney Poitier, First Black Actor To Win Oscar, Longtime Westchester Resident, Dies
Trailblazing, Sidney Poitier, the first Black actor to win an Oscar, a longtime New York resident has died.
Bahamian Prime Minister Phillip Davis made the announcement that Poitier died on Thursday, Jan. 8 at the age of 94.
A native of Cat Island in the Bahamas, Davis said: "The whole Bahamas grieves the celebrated life of a great Bahamian."
Poitier, who grew up on a tomato farm and taught himself to read and write, became a resident of Westchester County, moving to Mount Vernon in 1956.

A Hudson Valley man who had a veritable arsenal in his car when he was stopped by police is facing charges following his arrest for impersonating a police officer in Florida, authorities announced.
Rockland County resident James J. Tedesco IV, age 43, of Nanuet, was busted with police uniforms, assault rifles, and other military equipment when he was stopped shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 on Route 95 in Vero Beach, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said.
At the time he was stopped, Tedesco was in possession of:

A pair of brothers who are Long Island natives have been identified as two of the victims of the condo collapse n Surfside, Florida.
Dr. Brad Cohen, a Suffolk County native, from Dix Hills, was confirmed dead by the Miami-Dade Police on Friday, July 16. His body was found on Wednesday, July 7, the department said.
His brother, Dr. Gary Cohen, age 58, who was also killed in the Tuesday, June 24 collapse, was identified earlier in the week.
