A person suffered critical injuries after falling through the roof of a home in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County, in the Red Oaks Mill area of Arlington, at 12:50 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. According to Arlington Fire District Deputy Chief Adam Kangas, the unidentified victim was found to have sustained severe injuries and required transport to a Level One trauma center. Three people were rescued from a burning Hudson Valley home and hospitalized, firefighters said. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Nov. 5 just after midnight, when flames went up on a home's porch in the Lake Secor area of Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV. Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. Hospitalizations in Connecticut related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have dropped once again. Gov. Ned Lamont announced late Saturday afternoon, May 30 that there are now 533 patients are being hospitalized. That's a drop of 44 from a day earlier. For a rundown of what's open and closed in Connecticut, click here. During the pandemic, 42,022 have tested positive, with 260 new cases. There were 44 new fatalities, bringing the statewide total to 3,912. A total of 246,935 tests have been reported to the state, with 5,542 new cases.
