Hudson Valley Man Slashes Barber, Cuts Own Throat, Police Say
A man from the region is behind bars after allegedly slashing a barber numerous times with a knife and then cutting his own throat on a local street.
The incident occurred in Ulster County in the 600 block of Broadway at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in Kingston.
According to Chief Egidio Tinti of the Kingston Police, Gunercindo Diaz-Diaz, age 41 of Kingston, was spotted by a New York State Trooper with a knife to his neck on a city street.
The trooper pulled over and tried to talk Diaz-Diaz out of harming himself, but he cut his neck, causing a minor injury, Tinti said.

A man from the region has been charged with allegedly killing a woman and then dismembering her body before disposing of the parts.
Ulster County resident Damon Foy, age 50, of Kerhonkson, was arraigned in Ulster County Court on Friday, April 19, for a murder charge and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.
According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, between Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1, Foy murdered Alberta Dale, age 44, of Pennsylvania, dismembered her and was in the process of disposing of her body when law enforcement intervened.

Firefighter Sends Sexually Explicit Photo To Purported Underage Teen, Capital Region Police Say
A firefighter from the region is accused of sending a sexually explicit image to who he believed was a minor.
Albany County resident John Redick, age 68, of Colonie, was arrested Monday, March 18, on suspicion of disseminating indecent material to a minor, a felony.
Colonie Police said Redick, a lifetime member of the Colonie Fire Company, sent the illegal photo to who he believed to be an underage teenage boy.
