Matthew Fyre, an educator for Integrated Pest Management at Cornell University, advised treating clothes with permethrin before going out and checking for ticks, The Poughkeepsie Journal said.  When a tick is found, then Fyre advised taking sharp forceps or tweezers and grabbing the tick close to its head and gently and consistently pull, reported Poughkeepsie Journal.
