A man accused of fleeing the country after posting bail in a nearly two-decade-old Westchester County sex abuse case was finally caught when police pulled him over for speeding in Dutchess County, authorities said.
Jose Tacuri, 50, currently a resident of Wappingers Falls, was arrested in the Village of Red Hook on Thursday, Aug. 27, Red Hook Police announced on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The events leading up to Tacuri's arrest began around 12:50 p.m., when an officer pulled him over for speeding on South Broadway, police said.

Corrections Sergeant, Wife, Kids Killed When Car Plummets Down Embankment (Update)
A correctional sergeant, his wife, and their two children were killed when their car plunged about 60 feet down a steep embankment on Saturday, Aug. 29, state police said.
Pennsylvania State Troopers were called around 10:16 a.m. to the area of 1365 Rock Mountain Drive in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County, where first responders found the sedan down the embankment.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office was called to Angel Road in Corinth at 2:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to Sheriff Jeffrey R. Brown.

Three inmates at a Dutchess County prison have been indicted in separate attacks that left correction officers injured, prosecutors said.
Ryan Laws, 48, Carine Reeves, 46, and Emmanuel Valentin-Perez, 23, are each charged with two counts of second-degree assault, both felonies, in connection with incidents at Green Haven Correctional Facility in the town of Beekman, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday, Aug. 27.

A New York native found dead on a work trip to Nashville was located in under five hours by private investigators, according to their organization.
The body of Conor Anderson, 31, was found by Covert Results PI firm, which revealed details of the search on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
