The contest took place before the Westchester Knicks’ own game, and several players, including newly acquired former BYU star Jimmer Fredette, could be seen watching the tail end of the high school game from the stage area. Rye coach John Aguilar said teams always relish the chance to play at what could be described as the mecca of Westchester hoops. …

Lakeland Student Charged After Cafeteria Fight SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – A 14-year-old student at Lakeland High School was arrested and charged with third-degree-attempted-assault on Tuesday after a recent altercation inside the school cafeteria, according to the Yorktown Police Department. At 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, police said the Jefferson Valley resident allegedly punched the victim repeatedly. The student, whose name is being withheld due to his age, was issued a Juvenile Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at the Department of Probation on Jan. 5.
