Bright Fireballs Could Highlight Taurid Meteor Shower Peak The Taurid meteor shower is approaching a peak that could give skywatchers a bright reason to stay up late. The Southern Taurids’ November peak falls overnight Wednesday, Nov. 4, into Thursday, Nov. 5, according to the American Meteor Society’s calendar. The following night, Thursday into Friday, Nov. 6, also offers a viewing opportunity. Skywatchers across the Northeastern US should look around midnight and into the early morning hours, weather permitting. 2 Missing College Students, Including NYer, Found Dead After Mountain Hiking Trip Two college students who vanished during a mountain hiking trip have been found dead, ending a search that stretched across snow-covered terrain. Jackson Donlon, 20, and Kaden Matsuda, 19, were discovered near each other in a basin of West Apostle Mountain in Colorado’s Chaffee County around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, authorities said. Authorities identified Donlon as being from New York but have not released his hometown or specified where in the state he lived.
