Wrong-Way Long Island Expressway Driver From Bellport Charged With DWI In Medford A 22-year-old man was apprehended after police say he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway while intoxicated. A 911 caller reported a Jeep was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the LIE near exit 68 in Medford at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, March 13, Suffolk County Police said. Highway Patrol Officers Aaron Parker and Jason Hubbard responded in two separate police vehicles, the SCPD said.  "They encountered the Jeep between exits 66 and 65 where it pulled off the road and came to a stop at 5:30 a.m.," according to police.
