Man Struck By Lirr Train

A man who was struck by a train at the Woodside LIRR station was still alive when transported to Elmhurst Hospital.

The incident, which took place around 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, has caused five cancellations and delays averaging 10 to 15 minutes, said a LiRR spokesman.

To help alleviate the delays, the subway system is cross-honoring tickets for passengers at various stations along the line.

The LIRR spokesperson did not say how the man got on the tracks.
