Man Struck, Killed By Car In Hudson Valley
A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing a busy roadway in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 10 p.m., Saturday, June 18 in Wappingers Falls on South Avenue near West Academy Street. The responding officers found Robert English, age 44, of Wappingers Falls, critically injured in the roadway, said Commissioner Charles Ferry, of the Wappingers Falls Police Department. Two-Alarm Wappingers Falls Fire Heavily Damages Home
A home in the Village of Wappingers Falls was devastated by a two-alarm fire, according to fire officials. The fire, which started around 9:27 a.m. at 21 N. Gilmore Blvd., moved quickly but was extinguished by 10 a.m. by members of the Wappingers Falls, Hughsonville, New Hackensack fire departments. Red Cross officials have been called to the home to assist displaced residents. No one was injured.
