A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly shooting at a utility worker at an area motel.
Orange County resident Kevin W. Brown, age 32, of Middletown was arrested on Friday, June 9 for the incident at the Middletown Motel, in the town of Wallkill.
On Tuesday, June 6, officers from the Wallkill Police Department responded to a report of “shots fired” at the motel located at 521 Route 211 East, said Lt. Robert McLymore, of the Wallkill Police.

Man Accused Of Raping, Stabbing 41-Year-Old Woman At Area Apartment Complex
A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping and stabbing a 41-year-old woman.
The incident took place in Orange County around 3:35 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, when the town of Wallkill Police responded to a report of an assault at the Cambridge Manor Apartments.
When police arrived on the scene at 28 Stoneridge Road, they found the victim who was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries, said Wallkill PD Lt. R. McLymore.

Man Admits To Forcible Touching Of Teenage Girl In Area
A Wallkill man pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of forcible touching of a teenage girl.
At the time Joseph Retherford, 38, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, May 29, he admitted that on December 28, 2018, he forcibly touched the sexual or other intimate parts of a teenage girl for the purpose of gratifying his sexual desire, while the victim was a passenger in his vehicle, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Retherford is scheduled to be sentenced on August 28, he will also be required to register as a sex offender, the DA's Office said.
