Pedro Pacheco, Case Worker For Mental Health of America in Beacon, Dies On His 40th Birthday
Pedro Luis Pacheco, a longtime Beacon resident, died after a long illness on his birthday on Monday, July 1 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 40 years old.
He was born on July 1, 1979 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Evelyn Cruz of Beacon and the late Ramon Luis Pacheco.
Pedro graduated from high school and received an associate’s degree. He was a caseworker for Mental Health of America in Beacon before his illness. Support is pouring in for area residents who tragically lost a woman known as a "mom to all."
Patricia Fenton, 55, died Monday, June 24 at her Wappingers Falls home from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.
In addition to her husband, Billy, she is survived by her children, Victoria Fenton, Alexa Fenton and Robert Fenton; her granddaughter, Evalisse Fenton; her siblings, Claudia Chiappardi, Janet Olson, Gail Buccellato, Francis Chiappardi, Vincent Chiappardi and Lisa Allis; many nieces and nephews.

New York State Police troopers were busy over Memorial Day Weekend, removing more than two dozen motorists for alleged impaired driving in the Hudson Valley.

On Saturday, May 25, State Police from Brewster arrested Lawrence C. Marquez, 27, of South Salem, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of Area Man
A 22-year-old man is behind bars for the stabbing death of another local man, police said.
Keano Munoz of Beacon was arrested on Saturday, May 18, for the stabbing death of Richard Viera, 55, of Beacon, said Beacon Police Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson.
Viera was found when Beacon Police responded to South Davies Terrace around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Johnson said.
He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital before being transferred to Westchester Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, he added.

IDs Released For Victims In Double-Fatal I-84 Crash
Two people who were killed in a single-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of I-84 during the morning commute have been identified.
The crash took place around 6:41 a.m., Friday, May 17, on westbound I-84, when a Dodge Journey left the roadway and entered the enter median and struck a tree, said New York State Police Spokesman Steven Nevel.
Killed in the crash were Heather Morgan, 36, and her passenger, Derick Jones, 37, both of Beacon.
State Police are still investigating the crash, Nevel said.
