Kyle Novotny, 21, of 44 High Lane, was investigated by the sheriff’s narcotics unit, Smith said, adding that an undercover officer was able to purchase heroin from the suspect on “several occasions.”
The narcotics unit raided the home on Wednesday, Feb. 10, and arrested Novotny, Smith said.
Seized in the raid, the sheriff said, were heroin, cocaine, MDMA pills, oxycodone, digital scales and cash.
Novotny has prior criminal convictions for the sale and possession of narcotics, Smith said.
He was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, the sheriff said.
Novotny was arraigned in Carmel Justice Court and sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility without bail, the sheriff said.
If found guilty of the felony charges, Novotny could face 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $30,000, the sheriff said.
