Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Putnam County Cases By Community

Sevearl new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Putnam last week as the county creeps closer to 100 fatalities since the pandemic began.

Putnam County officials reported 504 newly confirmed cases in the latest data released by the Department of Health, bringing the total to 7,349 total cases out of 143,176 COVID-19 tests administered since the virus started spreading in early March last year.

The new virus-related deaths brought the total to 81. This is the third straight week the county has reported multiple COVID-19 fatalities after seeing a long stretch of zero or one death weekly for months.

There are currently 18 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Putnam County, which is monitoring 394 active cases.

A breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Putnam County, according to the latest information released by the Department of Health as of Friday, Feb. 5:

  • Carmel: 2,744 (200 new);
  • Southeast: 1,471 (82);
  • Kent: 935 (52);
  • Putnam Valley: 839 (59);
  • Patterson: 705 (61);
  • Philipstown: 655 (50).

Statewide, a total of 1,440,718 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 32.78 million tests that have been administered. There have been a total of 35,767 virus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
