15 Child Porn Charges Land Suffolk Man In County Jail: Authorities
A Long Island man is facing 15 child pornography charges, and police are asking parents to report any inappropriate messages their children may have received from him.
Brian K. McCort, 31, of Commack, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 15, New York State Police announced Thursday, Oct. 29.
McCort was charged with 15 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to state police. Investigators also discovered McCort had an active warrant out of Delaware County, PA, police said. The release did not specify what that warrant involved.

A drunk Long Island driver rammed his car into a utility pole on Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, police said.
Juventino Rojano Rojas, 40, of Hampton Bays, was arrested following the crash near Wakeman Road and Palo Alto Drive around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Rojas was traveling northbound on Wakeman Road when he left his lane and collided with the pole, police said. No injuries were reported at the scene, cops said.

A former PhD student from New Jersey who killed her friend’s infant son and abused his twin brother was sentenced in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Oct. 28, court records show.
Nicole Elizabeth Virzi, 32, of Saddle Brook, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of children in the death of 6-week-old Leon Katz and injuries to his twin brother.

Woman Killed By Landscaping Truck Backing Up In Suffolk County
A 93-year-old woman was killed when a landscaping truck backed into her on Long Island on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28, police said.
Surinder Kour, of Dix Hills, was walking north on Seneca Court in Dix Hills when the truck struck her at approximately 2:10 p.m., according to Suffolk County police.
Kour was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, Cristian Hernandez Rodriguez, of Huntington Station, was not injured, police said.
