Woman, 74, Killed In Rollover Crash Off Capital Region Exit Ramp: Police
A 74-year-old woman was killed in a car crash in Albany on Tuesday, Sept. 22, police said.
The woman was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 85 around 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to a preliminary investigation by the Albany Police Department.
The driver, a 76-year-old man, lost control while attempting to exit using the off ramp to Krumkill Road, police said. The car then left the road and rolled over onto Bender Avenue, cops said.

A Capital Region man with a history of domestic violence was arrested again for violating an order of protection Monday, Sept. 21, police said.
Daniel S.P. Catone, 26, of Ballston, was arrested following a “domestic call” around 12:30 a.m. in the town, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Catone was detained for violating a protection order, then charged with aggravated family offense and felony criminal contempt, the sheriff’s office said. Both charges were felonies because Catone had been previously convicted of a similar crime in the past five years, according to …

A man who police say twice violated an order of protection at a New York business led officers on a chase that ended with a crash and a standoff, authorities announced Monday, Sept. 21.

A Connecticut driver had two young children in his car when New York State Police say he was caught driving with twice the legal blood alcohol limit on I-84.
Edber Torres Chamba, 35, of Danbury, was stopped while traveling east on I-84 in Southeast around 3:25 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, after troopers spotted vehicle and traffic law violations, New York State Police said.
During the stop, Torres Chamba showed signs of intoxication and was given standardized field sobriety tests, police said. Troopers then discovered two children, ages 1 and 8, inside the vehicle, according to police.

Two Albany men with criminal histories were arrested for shooting at each other and several other crimes, police said.
Mekhi R. Myrick, 23, and Sean A. Albea, 25, were both detained Wednesday, Sept. 2, the Albany Police Department said.
They were tied to a Monday, Aug. 17 incident in which Myrick opened fire on Albea in the area of Ontario Street and Second Street around 8 p.m., and Albea shot at Myrick and a group of people, according to police.
