Sex Offender Harasses 13-Year-Old Girl At Long Island Convenience Store, Police Say
A convicted sex offender is accused of harassing an underage girl outside a Long Island convenience store. The incident happened in Patchogue, at the 7-Eleven store located near Montauk Highway and Bay Avenue, at around 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Suffolk County Police said 37-year-old Ronald Rios, of East Patchogue, made sexual comments to a 13-year-old girl. When the victim informed Rios of her age, he allegedly continued making sexual comments. Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Special Victims Section identified the suspect as Rios. Talk about a massive payday. Two Long Island men have a million more reasons to be smiling after winning seven-figure lottery prizes. Jose Carranza, of Mastic, claimed a $1 million prize on the “Platinum Power” scratch-off game, New York Lottery announced. He purchased the lucky ticket in east Moriches, at East End Marketing on Montauk Highway. After paying Uncle Sam, Carranza pocketed $416,641.
