Dutchess County Man Sentenced to 20 Years To Life For Kidnapping Pregnant Woman, Children
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office announced that Derrick Woodhouse, age 50, of Poughkeepsie, has been sentenced to 20 years to life for kidnapping and 2 to 4 years for attempted robbery following his conviction by a Dutchess County jury.
The charges stem from a harrowing incident on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2023, when Woodhouse abducted a pregnant woman and two minor children at knifepoint in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Mail Thief Nabbed After Making High-Speed Escape In Hudson Valley
An 18-year-old man was nabbed by police for allegedly stealing mail that contained personal financial information out of residential mailboxes with two accomplices.
Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police said Mahamadou Sissoko, of the Bronx, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 8, for the crimes committed on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, in Tompkins Cove.
According to Schoales, Sissoko and the two accomplices were seen stealing mail. Police arrived as the trio attempted to flee in a vehicle driven by Sissoko.

Guilty: Hudson Valley Man To Spend Years Behind Bars For Forcible Rape
A Hudson Valley man will spend years behind bars after being found guilty by a jury of forcible rape.
Orange County resident Jesse Boniface, age 52, of Middletown, was convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 1, of the rape which occurred in the town of Crawford, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
As alleged at trial, on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, Boniface engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex by force with another person.
The attack was reported to the Crawford Police, who, after conducting an investigation, arrested Boniface.

A teenager was apprehended after allegedly luring a victim to his Northern Westchester home and raping them at knifepoint, police announced.
The 17-year-old suspect, whose name was not released because of their age, was arrested at his Yorktown home on Sunday, Sept. 22 in connection with an incident that happened the day before, Yorktown Police said on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
According to the department, an investigation revealed that on Saturday, Sept. 21, the suspect convinced the victim to come to his home on false pretenses, restrained them, and raped them at knifepoint.

Hudson Valley Man Admits Being Major Drug Trafficker, DA Says
A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to operating as a major drug trafficker and faces years in prison.
Orange County resident Antonio Bucci, age 29, of Chester, entered the plea on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
Hoovler said Bucci's admission comes after a year-long investigation by the New York State Police, the Orange County Drug Task Force, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
