Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers later this week. The eastbound right and center lanes of the Long Island Expressway are scheduled to close between exit 61 and Exit 62 in Brookhaven overnight Thursday night, Feb. 8. Lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9 while crews conduct bridge maintenance, according to the Department of Transportation. Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Sunrise Highway
Scheduled roadwork on a busy Long Island roadway could cause delays for drivers in the coming weeks. In the Town of Islip, the right and center lanes of eastbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) will be closed nightly at exit 48 from 10 p.m. to 6 am. beginning Sunday, Jan. 21 and lasting two weeks. The northbound right lane of Locust Avenue will also be closed during those times, according to the Department of Transportation. Long Island Expressway Stretch Reopens After Crash In Syosset
This story has been updated. A stretch of the Long Island Expressway has reopened after a serious crash on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 14. The crash happened in Syosset around 2 p.m., closing all lanes westbound at Exit 41. The lanes reopened at around 4 p.m. Details on the crash have not yet been released.
