Hudson Valley Man Dies After Fleeing Hit-Run Crash, Police Say Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident during which one of the occupants died while fleeing from the scene of a crash on Long Island. It happened around 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept.19 in North Babylon, Suffolk County Police said. A 2003 Toyota Camry was involved in a minor crash with a vehicle at the intersection of Woods Road and Erlanger Boulevard, according to police. Three Dogs Attack Four People, Including Police Officer, In Long Island Neighborhood Three aggressive pit bulls escaped from their yard and attacked at least four people, prompting one police officer to fire shots at the animals.  According to Suffolk County Police, the incident began around 7:22 p.m., Monday, July 13, when officers responded to a home in North Babylon regarding the attacking dogs. The attacks began after the three dogs escaped from a yard on Woods Road and bit four local residents, police said.
