Hit-Run Seriously Injures Young Long Island Man: Police A Long Island man was walking in the early hours of the morning when a driver hit him and fled the scene, leaving him with serious injuries, police said. On Thursday, May 4 at around 5 a.m., 24-year-old William Thomas was walking northbound in the roadway of Park Avenue in Greenlawn, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Thomas, a resident of Huntington, was near Hofstra Drive when a vehicle struck him and drove away. ID Released For Man Who Dies After Jeep Rolls Over During Medical Event On LIE Police have released the identity of a Manorville man who died following a crash on the LIE after suffering a medical emergency. William Thomas, 60, died around 4:50 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, after crashing while driving on the Long Island Expressway, said the Suffolk County Police. Thomas was driving a 2014 Jeep Patriot westbound on the LIE, just east of exit 70, when it veered off the road and overturned, police said.
