The crash took place around 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, in Levittown, said the Nassau County Police. The incident happened on Thursday, June 3 at around 10:10 p.m. in Levittown. While attempting to cross northbound on Wantagh Avenue at Hempstead Turnpike, the 50-year-old man was struck by a 2000 Mack truck traveling westbound, Nassau County Police said.  The man suffered multiple trauma injuries to his body and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:28 pm by a hospital physician, police said. Long Island Man Sentenced For High-Speed, Near-Fatal Mercedes Crash A 44-year-old man will spend time in prison after driving the Mercedes-Benz involved in a high-speed chase that left one person with life-threatening injuries and injured several others in 2017. Kelvin O’Neal, of Freeport, has been sentenced to five years in prison and two years of post-release supervision for the December 2017 crash, which he fled the scene of, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said.
