The Riverhead Police Department reported that Kenneth Hamilton, age 47, of Wading River, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle struck the cruiser. Woman In Distress Swimming Rescued From Long Island Sound Emergency responders rescued a woman who was in distress while swimming in the Long Island Sound. The incident happened early Sunday morning, July 18 in Suffolk County, off Shoreham Beach in Shoreham.
