Woman Crashes Into Long Island Store, Injuring Six, Police Say
Six people were injured, including a police officer, when a woman lost control of her vehicle and drove into the front of a Long Island beauty salon, according to police.
The incident took place around 1:45 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Salon De Franco, located at 156 Middle Neck Road, in Kensington.
While driving on Middle Neck Road near Beverly Road, the 84-year-old woman struck a vehicle in the intersection, Nassau County Police said.
As a result of the collision, the woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the salon and through the front glass, police said.

One person was killed in an overnight crash involving a FedEx vehicle on the Long Island Expressway.
It happened around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 in Ronkonkoma.
A 2018 Honda sedan, driven by Stephen Neville, age 29, of Lake Ronkonkoma, collided with a 2017 Nissan sedan, driven by Xavier Rodriguez, age 19, of Centereach, on the eastbound Long Island Expressway as the two vehicles were attempting to turn onto Exit 60, Suffolk County Police said.
The Honda came to a stop in the center lane and the Nissan stopped on the exit ramp, according to police.

Long Island Woman Killed After Mercedes Crashes Into Pole
A Long Island woman was killed after crashing into a telephone pole.
The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 5:10 p.m. in North Hills.
The woman, age 53, was operating a 2017 Mercedes Benz southbound on Searingtown Road when she struck the pole near the intersection of Diana’s Trail, Nassau County Police said.
A rear passenger, Nadejda Skokova, 76, of Rego Park, suffered multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead by a staff physician, according to police.

It happened around 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23 in West Babylon.
Dennis Markey, 47, of Bay Shore, and Marcus Pitts, 35, of Freeport, were heading southbound in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Wellwood Avenue, passing the entrance of St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, Suffolk County Police said.
