Teens' Jet Skis Collide, Hospitalizing 1, In Long Island Accident
Police are investigating an accident that occurred when two teenagers’ jet skis crashed into each other at a Long Island beach, sending one to the hospital.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 25 at approximately 12: 46 p.m. in Point Lookout, Nassau County Police reported.
Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were riding jet skis in the Jones Inlet when they suddenly collided with each other.
The 16-year-old victim suffered a compound fracture to his leg.

Paul Henry Nargeolet, age 77, of New York City, lived in Litchfield County, in the town of Kent, for nearly a decade, as he took 37 trips to the doomed wreckage on salvage operations, including a couple in the Oceangate Titan.

ID Released For Boater Who Went Missing Near Smith Point Beach
Police have released the identity of a man whose 25-foot boat washed ashore will all the electronics working, but the owner missing.
Todd Mauro, age 52, of Ronkonkoma, was last seen around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30 as he left from the South Shore Boat Yard in Patchogue, said the Suffolk County Police.
US Coast Guard Petty Officer Ryan Schultz said the boat washed ashore around 8:15 p.m., Sunday, on the ocean side of Smith Point Beach.
There was no one aboard at the time it was found, but all of the electronic equipment was "energized" and working, Schultz said.

Woman Rescued After Sailboat Overturns In Peconic Bay
A woman was rescued from the waters off Long Island after her Sunfish sailboat capsized.
The incident took place in Southampton around 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 in Peconic Bay near Robbins Island.
The woman, Barbara Gilman, age 56, from Georgia, was able to call for help, and Southampton Patrol Units, Southampton Marine Patrol, US Coast Guard, and state police boat responded along with Southampton and North Sea Fire Departments and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police.

Search On For Missing Long Island Swimmer, Police Say
Police and rescue squads are combing the waters of Long Island for a man who allegedly jumped into the waters of Long Island and disappeared.
The incident took place in Southampton around 2:10 a.m., Thursday, July 14.
Southampton Town Police 911 was contacted by a woman saying her companion was missing after attempting to swim across the Shinnecock Canal, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police.
The man, identified as John Escorcia-Arroyo, age 22, of Westhampton, left the Dream Night Club and jumped into the inlet, Ralph said.

Man Injured In Nine-Story Fall From Hotel Balcony In NY ID'd As Coast Guardsman
A man who suffered serious injuries after falling from a hotel balcony on Long Island has been identified as a US Coast Guardsman, according to friends.
Alexander “AJ” Keating, age 24, was on a ninth-floor balcony at around 12:45 a.m. Monday, May 23, when he fell over a railing at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, Suffolk County Police said.
Keating, a native of North Andover, Massachusetts, survived the fall and was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, said police.

The US Coast Guard, along with several police agencies, are searching for a missing kayaker from the area who failed to return from an outing as a strong Nor'easter moved into the area.
The search for Laurence Broderick, age 45, of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, began around 4 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26, when the Village of Mamaroneck police received a call from his mother requesting a wellness check.

18-Year-Old Killed In Long Island Sound Jet Ski Accident
A 2021 high school graduate from Fairfield County is being remembered by friends and family after he was killed when two jet skis collided in the Long Island Sound.
Matthew (Matt) Horvath, age 18, of Shelton, died on Tuesday, July 27, in Milford, said Will Healy, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Healy said Horvath was killed in a boating accident in which jet skis collided in the Sound.
He was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Healy said.
