A 79-year-old Setauket man was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester southbound on Laura Lane when he collided with a 2019 Toyota RAV4 traveling westbound on Lower Sheep Pasture Road, according to Suffolk County Police. Fatal Crash: 65-Year-Old From West Babylon ID'd As Victim On Sunrise Highway In Lindenhurst. Police are investigating a fatal early morning crash on Long Island. It happened just after 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 in Lindenhurst. The victim was crossing Sunrise Highway (Route 27) at North Greene Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound 2005 Toyota RAV4, driven by a 58-year-old man. Jeffrey Schmohl, age 65, of West Babylon, was pronounced dead at the scene, Suffolk County Police said. The driver of the RAV4, a Lindenhurst resident, was alone in the vehicle and uninjured. The crash happened around 11:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24 in Roslyn Heights. That's when Nassau County Police say a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder being operated by a 24-year-old man was traveling southbound on Mineola Boulevard. Glen Cove resident Lawrence Grammer, age 74, was convicted by a jury of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon following a fatal shooting at a Glen Head repair shop in August 2018.
