These LI Communities Most Affected By Power Outages From Fast-Moving Storm That Topples Trees
Thousands were left without power on Long Island overnight as storms rocked the region, toppling trees, downing power lines, and prompting a tornado warning from the National Weather Service.
Storms caused devastating damage on Sunday, Nov. 15, bringing wind gusts of upwards of 45 mph, leaving hundreds still waiting to turn the lights back on as of Monday, Nov. 16, according to PSEG Long Island.
PSEG crews worked overnight on repairs across Long Island, though there were still 130 active outages impacting nearly 1,000 of the utility company’s 1,164,550 customers as of 9:20 a.m. on Monday.
