‘Fix A Flat’ Scam: $8,000 Cash Stolen From Long Island Woman $8,000 in cash was stolen from a Long Island woman in a scam involving her tire being flattened, police said. The woman withdrew the cash at a Chase Bank, located in Carle Place on Old Country Road, on Monday, April 10 at 12:45 p.m., Nassau County Police reported. She then placed the cash and her wallet in her purse and left it on the front seat while she drove westbound on Old Country Road.
