The right and center lanes were closed eastbound in Suffolk County between Exit 62 - Nicolls Road/Route 97 (Brookhaven) and Exit 63 - North Ocean Avenue/Route 83 (Brookhaven) starting at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13. Suffolk County Police announced at the time the lanes would be closed "for an extended period of time." At around 4:15 p.m., the middle lane reopened. The right lane reopened shortly afterward.
