Fatal Hit-Run: Police Seeking This Vehicle In Long Island Crash That Killed 47-Year-Old Police have put out new information in hopes of locating the driver who fled after hitting and killing a pedestrian on a busy Long Island road. The incident happened at around 10:15 p.m. Friday, June 2, in Port Jefferson Station. Suffolk County Police said 47-year-old Peter Williams was crossing Route 112 eastbound, south of Rose Avenue, when he was struck by an unknown SUV heading southbound that fled the scene. Suspect At Large After Suffolk County Bank Robbery Police are searching for a suspect after a Long Island bank robbery. A man entered the TD Bank branch in Elwood, located at 1941 Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, and verbally demanded money from the teller, Suffolk County Police said.  The teller complied and the man fled the bank on foot, according to police. The man is described as being White, wearing a knit cap, dark jacket, light pants and a face covering. ID Released For Man Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash The identity has been released for a man who was found dead after what has now been identified as a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. Suffolk County Police First Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man in North Lindenhurst lying in the turning lane of Wellwood Avenue, north of New Horizons Boulevard., at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 30. The victim, now identified as James Angotta, age 63, of North Lindenhurst, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, said police.
