Missing Person Among 2 Wrong-Way Drivers Stopped On Southern State Parkway In Islip, Police Say A missing person has been found after State Police on Long Island responded to not one, but two separate wrong-way drivers on the Southern State Parkway in just as many days. Troopers were first called at around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with reports of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway in the town of Islip, near exit 42, according to State Police. Wrong-Way DWI Driver Nabbed After Miles-Long LIE Chase An allegedly intoxicated wrong-way driver  took officers on a chase for miles on the Long Island Expressway before being apprehended, police said. Patchogue resident Christian Vasquez drove west in the eastbound lanes of the LIE early on Monday morning, Aug. 17, taking Suffolk County Highway Patrol officers on a chase that started near exit 63 in Holtsville, according to authorities. Police said that officers chased Vasquez until his car was ultimately stopped by spike strips that were deployed near exit 52 in Dix Hills.
