Man Sold Fake Oxy Pills, Leading To Overdoses, Death On Long Island: DA
A Long Island man was indicted for allegedly selling fake oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl, causing two overdoses and one death, according to authorities.
Anthony Trimboli, age 34 of Bayport, was arraigned on Friday, Aug. 25 on charges relating to the illegal sale of counterfeit pills, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced.
The investigation against Trimboli alleges that on Tuesday, Jan. 31, he sold pills out of his home to a 33-year-old man who thought they were oxycodone pills.
However, they were actually laced with fentanyl, the DA’s Office claimed.

What began as a normal traffic stop has now landed a Long Island man behind bars for a decade.
Lindenhurst resident David Marmol, aged 41, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, July 11 for his possession of a number of illicit substances, as well as a metal knuckle knife, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney.
On February 20, 2021, Marmol was pulled over in what was originally a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of South Fifth Street and Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst.

Man Indicted For Sexually Abusing, Biting 6-Year-Old On Long Island: DA
A Long Island man has been indicted just two weeks after he allegedly assaulted and abused his neighbor’s 6-year-old child, authorities reported.
Milton Jiron-Lara’s indictment was announced Thursday, July 6 by the Suffolk County District Attorney. The 53 Medford resident faces a total of five charges related to his alleged abuse of the young boy.
