Garden City Police arrested Austin Withers, age 28, of Hempstead, at his Crowell Street residence on suspicion of grand larceny and related charges Saturday, Aug. 24. According to police, Withers was seen stealing a wallet inside the Adelphi University library in Garden City on Tuesday, June 18.  He allegedly used credit cards found in the wallet to make purchases at the Jamaica train station. 26-Year-Old Dies In 2-Vehicle Garden City Crash A 26-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened in Garden City at about 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, the Nassau County Police Department said. Police said a man was riding a 2009 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle east on Stewart Avenue at the intersection of Tanners Pond Road when he struck the rear of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata that was turning south on Edgemere Road. Wanted Woman Apprehended At Garden City Motel After Violent Struggle A wanted woman on Long Island violently resisted arrest as officers attempted to take her into custody at a Nassau County motel, police said. Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Third Precinct were dispatched to the La Quinta Motel on Stewart Avenue in Garden City at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, where there was a report of a disturbance.
