Hotel Room Raid: Southampton Man Busted With Meth, Heroin, Handgun, Police Say
A Long Island man was found with meth, ecstasy, heroin, and a gun in a raid of a hotel in New Jersey, authorities said.
Sean McDermott, age 33, of Southampton, had been wanted out of Middlesex County, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
He was found with the following while at the Harmony Suites Hotel on Plaza Drive in Secaucus on Monday, Nov. 14 around 5:25 p.m., according to Miller:

Impaired Driver Strikes Tractor-Trailer, Dump Truck, Audi In Southampton, Police Report
A 20-year-old Long Island man was charged with driving while impaired by drugs after police said he crashed a vehicle into a tractor-trailer, a dump truck, and an Audi.
Authorities in Southampton received reports of a multi-vehicle crash on County Road 39 west of Tuckahoe Lane at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, the Southampton Town Police Department reported.
Investigators found that Jason Manigault, of Middle Island, drove a 2019 Nissan east at a high speed and crossed over into the westbound lane, striking a 1995 tractor-trailer, police said.

East Hampton, Riverhead Residents Seriously Injured In Head-On Southampton Crash
Two people suffered serious injuries after a crash near a busy Long Island intersection.
It happened on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at around 2:55 p.m. in Southampton, on County Road 39 east of Greenfield Road.
Laura Benjamin, age 77, of East Hampton, was driving a 2008 Lexus eastbound on County Road 39 when she drifted over the turning lane and into the left lane of westbound traffic, colliding head on with a 2019 Mazda suburban driven by Livardo Tomascahuec, age 24, of Riverhead, Southampton Town Police said.

Long Island Man Standing On Tracks, Hit, Killed By Train
A Long Island resident who was allegedly standing on the tracks was hit and killed by a train.
The incident occurred in Southampton around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17.
According to MTA officials, at about 3:40 p.m., the 3 p.m train from Speonk to Montauk fatally struck Rodney E. Brumsey, age 57, of Southampton, who was on the tracks west of Southampton Station near the Moses Lane grade crossing.
LIRR train service was suspended between Montauk and Speonk in both directions and buses were secured to transport passengers, MTA officials said.

ID Released For Man Found Floating In Cove On Long Island
Police have released the name of a man whose body was found floating along the shoreline of a Long Island cove.
Keith Viagas, age 63, of Noyac, a hamlet of Southampton, was found around 11:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 9.
According to Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police, a caller reported a man floating on the shoreline of Sag Harbor Cove.
Police responded to the area and found Viagas on the coastline, Ralph said.
His body was transported to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.
